Here is the hackmd for our meeting agenda, please feel free to edit it to add new discussion topics: https://hackmd.io/@rust-libs/HyIuBbKHP
I'd like to also keep meeting minutes so if anyone would be willing to volunteer for taking those notes please let me know.
I'll keep meeting minutes
reminder that our first meeting is in 3 hours and 45 minutes, if you have anything you'd like to discuss this is the thread to mention it in
Thanks for the reminder. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in discussing the Communicate current best practices section of the charter document.
Erroris merged into
core, here are the best practices...")
Perhaps I didn't search well enough but I couldn't find an official resource informing Rust newcomers about the state of error handling in Rust and current best practices, which is why I'm raising the point above for discussion.
While i'm not part of the group proper I'm very interested by a
Error book as a user
@Poliorcetics you can join us if you like to
I'm reading the streams here but I don't make/contribute to big enough rust projects right now to have an informed POV I think. That may change if I manage to find an internship using Rust :fingers_crossed:
Since this is our first meeting it would be nice if we could spend some time on:
As in, we take a leap into the future and assume all this was implemented into the language, then how it would potentially look :stuck_out_tongue:
30 minute warning
Is the meeting on this board?
its in this stream, but I'll be making a new topic for it
Jane, I'm new to this. How do I get to the stream or is this considered the stream? :)
you are already on the stream :stuck_out_tongue:
Thank you :grinning:
In the web view, streams are the things on the left side with the colored
# symbols. Topics are inside of streams, and they work basically like forum topics in most forums.
You can add hyperlinks to topic headings which I quite like when that's possible
All right, I'm here. We good to get started? (Never done a meeting just over text before)
Meeting thread: https://rust-lang.zulipchat.com/#narrow/stream/257204-project-error-handling/topic/Meeting.20-.202020-09-28
How to add yourself in attendance?
Go ahead and add a  emoji to Jane's Meeting Thread comment
I'll just add you to the meeting minutes @Charles Ellis O'Riley Jr.
