triagebot (Oct 12 2020 at 21:28, on Zulip):

@WG-prioritization/alerts issue #77869 has been requested for prioritization.

Procedure

James Gill (Oct 12 2020 at 21:41, on Zulip):

So this looks like that the issue earlier today that the reporter couldn't replicate right?

Joshua Nelson (Oct 12 2020 at 21:41, on Zulip):

yeah, I commented on the issue

James Gill (Oct 12 2020 at 21:41, on Zulip):

Ah, sound

apiraino (Oct 14 2020 at 10:09, on Zulip):

I'd love to see a smaller repro here but perhaps not easy to do, being an out-of-memory error? Would it make sense trying getting an mcve?

apiraino (Oct 14 2020 at 10:09, on Zulip):

Also, @Camelid the linked issues #77849 happened on macOS, what specifically suggests this issue to be O-linux?

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 14 2020 at 18:45, on Zulip):

if we can still duplicate this issue, I wonder if this doesn't deserve P-critical until we find more info

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 14 2020 at 18:46, on Zulip):

or well, we could wait given that the next release is still a bit far away

apiraino (Oct 14 2020 at 18:49, on Zulip):

yeah I agree with waiting a little bit more and see if we can have something more actionable. Either from issue or the other one

@apiraino I guess I was a little over-eager because I thought it could be OS-specific, and I saw linux in the target triple :embarrassed:

Removed the label

apiraino (Oct 14 2020 at 20:39, on Zulip):

ah right no worries, I'm still figuring out these labels :)

Camelid (Oct 15 2020 at 01:20, on Zulip):

Yeah, me too :)

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 21 2020 at 20:50, on Zulip):

this one needs prioritization

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 21 2020 at 20:50, on Zulip):

unsure if we have new information for us to decide on a priority ...

apiraino (Oct 21 2020 at 21:49, on Zulip):

looking at it

apiraino (Oct 21 2020 at 22:17, on Zulip):

left a comment, let's see if we have enough data to build a case

apiraino (Oct 28 2020 at 11:12, on Zulip):

How about nominating this issue to have a comment from the compiler team with the data available?

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 28 2020 at 19:12, on Zulip):

this is the only I-prioritize issue we have without priority

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 28 2020 at 19:15, on Zulip):

I'm not sure if we want to wait for more information on the issue or want to try to add a priority to it for now

apiraino (Oct 28 2020 at 20:58, on Zulip):

personally I wouldn't know which priority would I assign (a P-high?) I've suggested I-nominate because the issue commenters did a great job trying to understand what's going on, so I don't know if we can squeeze additional info out of it.
I'd bring it on the table's meeting and say "hey, this is what we know, what do you think? where do we go from here?"

Joshua Nelson (Oct 28 2020 at 21:00, on Zulip):

I am not convinced this is a stable-to-stable regression, just that the author first noticed it in an upgrade

Joshua Nelson (Oct 28 2020 at 21:00, on Zulip):

I suggest P-medium I-nominate

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 28 2020 at 21:02, on Zulip):

:+1: can you do so? :)

triagebot (Oct 28 2020 at 21:03, on Zulip):

Issue #77869's prioritization request has been removed.

apiraino (Nov 05 2020 at 17:23, on Zulip):

I'm adding a bit of feedback on the prioritization of this issue (as a reminder for my future self). Today's discussion was more oriented towards a P-high
