@WG-prioritization/alerts issue #78827 has been requested for prioritization.

apiraino (Nov 10 2020 at 14:51, on Zulip):

mmm ... I would keep this waiting until we know more. I don't have clear if the R headers are a red herring (a distraction from the culprit) or may be related

apiraino (Nov 18 2020 at 11:40, on Zulip):

I'm still slightly confused by the repro provided. Am I reading it correctly that the reporter's complain is about a function from an external library linked but never used (and thus for some reason not linked into the Rust binary)?
Maybe unprioritize this things get clearer?

Santiago Pastorino (Nov 18 2020 at 20:14, on Zulip):

bump, unprioritized

Santiago Pastorino (Nov 18 2020 at 20:54, on Zulip):

I'd say P-medium or P-low?

Santiago Pastorino (Nov 18 2020 at 21:05, on Zulip):

thoughts about this one?

Joshua Nelson (Nov 18 2020 at 21:08, on Zulip):

I think this is not a T-compiler bug

Joshua Nelson (Nov 18 2020 at 21:09, on Zulip):

The author wants to do something, but there's no way to write it in current Rust

Joshua Nelson (Nov 18 2020 at 21:10, on Zulip):

@mati865 what do you think?

mati865 (Nov 18 2020 at 21:12, on Zulip):

AFAIK he is importing symbols the wrong way but I didn't have time to test it.

apiraino (Nov 19 2020 at 10:54, on Zulip):

I'll assign a P-low but open to reprioritize this if the discussion in the issue warrants another priority levels

triagebot (Nov 19 2020 at 10:54, on Zulip):

Issue #78827's prioritization request has been removed.
