Topic: I-prioritize #77737 Application does not compile on 1.46.0 …

triagebot (Oct 09 2020 at 09:56, on Zulip):

@WG-prioritization/alerts issue #77737 has been requested for prioritization.

Procedure

James Gill (Oct 09 2020 at 15:34, on Zulip):

Wondering how to approach this issue, the code looks very similar to the mcve in the mentioned issue discussed yesterday 75992 - do we link to the duplicate and close?

DPC (Oct 09 2020 at 15:35, on Zulip):

if it's duplicate we can de-prioritise it, but i think we shouldn't close the issue

James Gill (Oct 09 2020 at 15:36, on Zulip):

Fair was asking the logistics of it :)

James Gill (Oct 09 2020 at 15:39, on Zulip):

WIth this added attention that the linked issue is getting #75992, this issue links to it and the issue in actix-web actix-web/issues/1688. I was wondering if an issue gets enough attention is there ground to reprioritize ( I realise it is already a P-high so maybe not much to gain in this situation )

why not if it's a duplicate?

apiraino (Oct 13 2020 at 12:09, on Zulip):

I am undecided on this one. Like suggested, I'd probably unprioritized it until a more concise MCVE is found or (also suggested) this is fairly a duplicate and can follow #75992.
Also closing for me could be fine, I mean if the #75992 will be fixed but the fix does not apply to #77737, the reporter of #77737 can always reopen it, right?

(unrelated, just discovered that on this Zulip stream issues are automatically linked by writing #123456, no need to manually craft the markdown :) )

Santiago Pastorino (Oct 14 2020 at 18:50, on Zulip):

and you can also use a lot of shortcuts like triagebot#123, forge#123, compiler-team#123 and many more :)

You can use those in any stream, not just this one. I think they work in PMs too

DPC (Oct 14 2020 at 19:51, on Zulip):

it works on this zulip instance because it is configured to match rust-lang/rust as a repo :stuck_out_tongue:

apiraino (Oct 14 2020 at 20:41, on Zulip):

awesome, thanks

triagebot (Oct 19 2020 at 12:06, on Zulip):

Issue #77737's prioritization request has been removed.

LeSeulArtichaut (Oct 19 2020 at 12:07, on Zulip):

I closed it as duplicate of #75992
