Out of curiosity I've cloned the repo of the crate that breaks the crater run (geod) since it looks the code in the crater run is different from the what I see in geod master branch.

I've compiled it successfully on stable, beta and latest nightly. I'm inclined to close this issue because the published crate seems to be still an old version not yet updated with the current Rust at that time. Would that make sense?

Yeah the author addressed it via https://github.com/tsionyx/geod/commit/2f7ead093b1eba883c8fefa972a8c0a857e19bcd.
