Topic: cc compiler team / compiler team contributors on new MCPs

varkor (Oct 03 2020 at 19:00, on Zulip):

Is there a particular reason the MCP template does not cc @rust-lang/compiler or @rust-lang/compiler-contributors? I know there are mentions on Zulip for the MCPs, but I find it easier to keep track of GH notifications. Would anyone object to adding a cc at the bottom of the template?

nikomatsakis (Oct 07 2020 at 19:47, on Zulip):

no objection

LeSeulArtichaut (Oct 07 2020 at 21:00, on Zulip):

Will it work if someone outside of the rust-lang org opens an issue?

varkor (Oct 07 2020 at 21:11, on Zulip):

That's a good point; I suppose it won't.

varkor (Oct 07 2020 at 21:14, on Zulip):

I guess a bot would do the trick, but this is probably good enough for now:

LeSeulArtichaut (Oct 07 2020 at 21:19, on Zulip):

OTOH I guess most MCPs are opened by org members? Maybe it's not even worth it to try to add a bot

LeSeulArtichaut (Oct 07 2020 at 21:21, on Zulip):

Also, since WG-prioritization goes through MCPs to add them to the weekly meeting agenda, maybe whoever handles the agenda could occasionally do the ping

nikomatsakis (Oct 08 2020 at 14:25, on Zulip):

I'd say add it to the bot

nikomatsakis (Oct 08 2020 at 14:25, on Zulip):

seems easy

nikomatsakis (Oct 08 2020 at 14:25, on Zulip):

@simulacrum can point at the sources I imagine

simulacrum (Oct 08 2020 at 14:28, on Zulip):, though you might need to special case compiler or add it to configuration

LeSeulArtichaut (Nov 07 2020 at 14:58, on Zulip):

If compiler-team#372 seems fine, could someone merge it?

Thanks for doing this @LeSeulArtichaut!
