Topic: create a working plan

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:25, on Zulip):

@WG-prioritization I wanted to propose if we can create a working plan for the working group

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:25, on Zulip):

I think we can start from this Master document and the Design meeting minutes

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:27, on Zulip):

also I've created the create working group PR and we have the team PR

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:27, on Zulip):

my idea would be ...

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:28, on Zulip):
  1. condense the information into just one document, that can be the Master document which can also link other documents like Compiler Team Meeting procedure and stuff like that
Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:29, on Zulip):

but right now seems that we have a lot of knowledge spreaded into a lot of different places, probably things can be removed from the Master document already

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:29, on Zulip):
  1. we can start a section on that document with ideas on how to improve our process
Santiago Pastorino (Mar 25 2020 at 16:30, on Zulip):

like maybe changing parts of our labeling scheme, moving part of our process async and stuff like that

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:46, on Zulip):

@WG-prioritization I've made some of the first steps about all this

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:48, on Zulip):

so now we have a Prioritization WG - Master document which links to all the information we have and have some ideas about tasks we would need to do

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:48, on Zulip):

starting there you can find everything

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:52, on Zulip):

there's a link to the compiler-team page of the working group (right now is just the PR), I think we should slowly start to document things there, our goals are already documented but we could probably add more stuff like what's considered critical or high priority, etc

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:52, on Zulip):

our procedure is also documented there

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:52, on Zulip):

and there's a list of tasks that links an ideas document

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:53, on Zulip):

feel free to improve add more ideas, I've tried to keep up the most urgent things but everything is my take

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:53, on Zulip):

please feel free to change everything

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 27 2020 at 19:55, on Zulip):

with this in mind, I'd suggest to do a short planning meeting so we can start to move things forward

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 30 2020 at 14:10, on Zulip):

@WG-prioritization I've scheduled a meeting for next monday 6th at 7pm UTC, I've added it to the Rust compiler calendar

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 30 2020 at 14:10, on Zulip):

would be nice if we keep adding ideas to our document

centril (Mar 30 2020 at 14:10, on Zulip):

Via Zoom or Zulip?

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 30 2020 at 14:11, on Zulip):

well, I'd say Zulip, unless the group prefers Zoom

Santiago Pastorino (Mar 30 2020 at 14:11, on Zulip):

but I think Zulip would work fine for this

centril (Mar 30 2020 at 14:13, on Zulip):

I usually feel more productive with Zoom, but if y'all prefer Zulip that's fine too

Wesley Wiser (Mar 30 2020 at 14:31, on Zulip):

I would prefer Zulip
