Topic: rustc-hash PR

James Munns (Feb 08 2020 at 12:58, on Zulip):

Hey all, we have a PR open to rustc-hash to better support no-std targets here: https://github.com/rust-lang/rustc-hash/pull/9

Does anyone know the right person to ping to get this approved/merged/released? It would definitely help out some embedded folks.

CC @Nick Cameron @nikomatsakis who seem to be owners/contributors to the crate

James Munns (Feb 08 2020 at 13:07, on Zulip):

Thank you @simulacrum for handling! Would it be possible to cut a release as well? (thank you in advance if you're already on it!)

simulacrum (Feb 08 2020 at 13:07, on Zulip):

Let me take a look, not sure if I have rights

simulacrum (Feb 08 2020 at 13:08, on Zulip):

Looks like I should... so yes, will do so in a bit, let's resolve the no_std issue first though

James Munns (Feb 08 2020 at 13:09, on Zulip):

Ah, making the whole crate no_std?

James Munns (Feb 08 2020 at 13:10, on Zulip):

I think the primary pain was just shared build-dependencies/dependencies wrt byteorder, but if we can now make the crate no_std, even better!

simulacrum (Feb 08 2020 at 13:10, on Zulip):

We'd not be able to re-export FxHashMap/FxHashSet without std, but that seems fine

nikomatsakis (Feb 08 2020 at 13:12, on Zulip):

@simulacrum did you issue a new crates.io release?

simulacrum (Feb 08 2020 at 13:12, on Zulip):

not yet, going to get the no_std changes in first

simulacrum (Feb 08 2020 at 13:13, on Zulip):

but will do so after that unless you don't want me to?

simulacrum (Feb 08 2020 at 13:21, on Zulip):

@James Munns Published 1.1.0 with no_std and byteorder dropped

nickray (Feb 08 2020 at 13:23, on Zulip):

wow, thanks a lot

James Munns (Feb 08 2020 at 15:18, on Zulip):

Thanks again!
