:+1:
So @XAMPPRocky, @Santiago Pastorino, and @Jasun Carr -- is there any reason not to open the survey today? Are all the links in https://github.com/rust-lang/blog.rust-lang.org/pull/470 correct?
the only reason I can see is timing -- there's a lot of "Rust" on HN right now, I imagine @Steve Klabnik might have input (I also pinged him on Discord...)
The only reason to my knowledge is some of the translations might have "FIXME" and not have the date that it ends at the top. Though whether that should be blocking is up to you.
ah, on discord he says "better to wait until tomorrow"
maybe we can use that time to dot every i, cross every t?
I believe @Florian Gilcher mentioned on the PR that we should merge the blog post today. Those changes I mentioned can be done in real time, since whenever the translation is updated it will be that.
We can, we don't have to.
People are already filling it out.
In general folks in #core on Discord are +1 to waiting a day
that's ok :)
Yeah, every link that is public will be clicked :/
I mean it doesn't hurt
let's shoot for tomorrow at ~8am or 9am PST
Oh I know, I'm just saying that it's not like it's a secret anymore regardless.

some translations are already with Dec 16th in it, not all
gonna check again now and update the document
I see no reason not to get in in the field (and sorry for not replying yesterday) - and hooray for folks already filling it out!
@XAMPPRocky merged blog post :)
also @Steve Klabnik
though it's not visible yet
awesome! thank you everyone for doing this
Just say some feedback on Reddit re: the "Rank your top 5 languages question."
"There is a bug in the question about language ranking, where you cannot unselect a language once selected, but you cannot continue if you select more than one per column. If you accidentally select more than 5 languages, you cannot complete the form."
Added a note in the English version: (Please only select 1 per column - Goggle Forms will not allow you to unselect an option once clicked.)
Hopefully it doesn't create too many issues. (I don't think it will)
can we stop error-checking and just allow more than 5 selections or something?
We can - Though that's going to make analysis a bit odd - will probably have to discard some answers - and remember this is a question that we're piloting this year, so some adjustment down the road is probable. Other's thoughts?
I just tried the Portuguese survey, and it is closed. I helped with translation and have access to it. Can I open it? cc @Santiago Pastorino
yeah of course, I thought translated surveys were all open
@Luiz Irber Yes, please do (if it's ready to go)
gonna check that all the translated surveys are open just in case ... now that you mention this
Oh, the announcement post is pointing to the 2018 survey (last year)
This is the correct link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScIZI8qtS1BMBaOIIirwp_NngKWgr_GTnow6Fp32M8_IySaPw/viewform
yeah I was going to say exactly that
@Luiz Irber can you open a PR about this?
Just created it =]
cool, thanks
unsure if I have merge rights, need to wait for the checks to finish
I don't have merge rights
cc @nikomatsakis can you merge https://github.com/rust-lang/blog.rust-lang.org/pull/474, portuguese survey link was wrong
Reddit reports that the French version is closed as well
all the translations surveys should be open since a while, some may not have been when the post was published
right now from the links we posted the only wrong is portuguese, we need to merge https://github.com/rust-lang/blog.rust-lang.org/pull/474
I don't have rights to do so, if someone can merge would be great, otherwise let's wait for @nikomatsakis
Somehow everyone with merge rights is not online right now.
/me internally screaming
There's also https://github.com/rust-lang/blog.rust-lang.org/pull/475 that should be merged as well.
I merged both
Another question: @Santiago Pastorino did we want to remove edit privileges from the "main survey" or anything like that? (for translators)
speaking as a translator, I had access to a copy of the main survey (and so no access to real responses)
Another question: Santiago Pastorino did we want to remove edit privileges from the "main survey" or anything like that? (for translators)
translators have access to a copy
we can remove the copy to avoid confusion I think

it says Goggle Forms => Google Forms
Did you fix the typo? I'm trying to get onto the form, but it freezes my browser.
I didn't
Fixed typo - and changed all languages to checkboxes (instead of radio) to eliminate the issue of not being able to unselect/move forward.
