I believe it's weekly meeting time?
I landed the change to move to new ANCHOR tags
but otherwise haven't done more work on the book
@nikomatsakis was suggesting we should perhaps triage the list of "things that are unexpectedly hard" + workarounds and have a section dedicated to that
@Taylor Cramer that sounds reasonable
I'm wondering whether that should be its own section or whether we should spread it throughout the book as we introduce concepts that are related
Quick updates for me: I haven't made much progress on streams docs. I've been thinking of how to approach them, but not done any actual writing yet. Probably stalled for a few weeks until after Rustconf.
https://github.com/rust-lang/async-book/issues/22 is the issue
@Taylor Cramer I think having it be its own section for now might just be easy
I figure I'm probably the most likely one to write such a section
I'll block off some time this week for it
It seems there are currently only two "unexpectedly hard things" listed, one of which I filed yesterday
Are there any more we should include?
I have a few that I'll go through
I was also going to triage the list of async/await issues for some
aside from that, I've also blocked off some time on my calendar friday to work on the select! section
I think that's it as far as my plans
cool, yeah like I said I'm a bit tied for time the next two weeks (until Rustconf) so can't promise I'll make much progress on streams
And I think that's it for the meeting no? Unless there's something else that needs to be shared?
My PR is done, so am ready for another.
Are there any other rough edges on the error message front?
@Giles Cope this is the book meeting-- did you mean to ask this in the wg-async-foundations chat?
good point. I don't think I'm quite in a position to write the book yet!
