Topic: ci timeout errors

Santiago Pastorino (Aug 05 2019 at 15:25, on Zulip):

@mark-i-m I've just approved some PRs but CI is giving some timeout errors, have tried re-running tests with no luck unsure if you or @Pietro Albini know how to fix this

Pietro Albini (Aug 05 2019 at 15:51, on Zulip):

do you have any links?

Santiago Pastorino (Aug 05 2019 at 17:00, on Zulip):

https://github.com/rust-lang/rustc-guide/pull/411

There were 3 broken links:

@Pietro Albini ^^^

Pietro Albini (Aug 05 2019 at 17:25, on Zulip):

that's probably travis's network being unreliable

Santiago Pastorino (Aug 05 2019 at 18:11, on Zulip):

yeah

mark-i-m (Aug 05 2019 at 19:56, on Zulip):

Sorry, I haven't had much time to look at this. This has been a consistent problem for the last couple of weeks, where various links from the rustc rustdocs fail (often not the same ones) by timing out.

mark-i-m (Aug 05 2019 at 19:56, on Zulip):

Does anyone know if this would be a problem with Azure Pipelines?

mark-i-m (Aug 05 2019 at 19:57, on Zulip):

It's gotten really bad, and it will only get worse as the guide gets bigger...

Tshepang Lekhonkhobe (Aug 05 2019 at 20:50, on Zulip):

@mark-i-m Seeing that you made https://github.com/rust-lang/rustc-guide/pull/416, I was wondering if it could be the mdbook-linkcheck quitting early

Tshepang Lekhonkhobe (Aug 05 2019 at 20:54, on Zulip):

Ok, I see there is an issue open https://github.com/Michael-F-Bryan/mdbook-linkcheck/issues/12

mark-i-m (Aug 06 2019 at 15:17, on Zulip):

@Tshepang Lekhonkhobe Yes, that issue would be the ideal solution (well, actually, it would be better if the internet Just Worked :P)

mark-i-m (Aug 06 2019 at 15:17, on Zulip):

For now, the hack seems to be working
