Topic: looking for tasks

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:25, on Zulip):

@Sergey Togi Dashnyam was asking on private for tasks

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:26, on Zulip):

it may be a good idea to discuss this here

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:26, on Zulip):

so ...

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:26, on Zulip):

right now I can think of three possibilities

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:30, on Zulip):

1. we have a project on rustc-guide repo where we have the main tasks we want to accomplish. Basically we had a lot of compiler experts giving some lectures and all that information is not yet on guides. The idea is to watch those, understand them, ask questions and get a lot of information back to write a chapter about those. Take a look in this project there are a bunch, some are already taken. You can comment on a github issue with @rustbot claim to have the issue "assigned" to you

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:32, on Zulip):

2. look at last meeting we had, we ended deciding to try to summarize together a lecture, you can join that. The idea is the same as in (1) but we will have a meeting to discuss things and collect questions and then ask those to @nikomatsakis on a different meeting.

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:33, on Zulip):

3. go to the issue tracker and help triaging issues and prs and/or fixing them :)

Ty, I'll pick an issue from the Kanban backlog :)

Sergey Togi Dashnyam (Sep 12 2019 at 13:51, on Zulip):

I self assigned this one: https://github.com/rust-lang/rustc-guide/issues/358
I can't move it to "In progress", I guess only Santiago can do it..

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:52, on Zulip):

done

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:52, on Zulip):

yeah, need admin rights for that I think, would be nice to be able to allow that though

Pietro Albini (Sep 12 2019 at 13:55, on Zulip):

@Sergey Togi Dashnyam you should now be able to do that

Pietro Albini (Sep 12 2019 at 13:55, on Zulip):

gave wg-learning write access to the rustc-guide

Sergey Togi Dashnyam (Sep 12 2019 at 13:56, on Zulip):

Thx Pietro, Santiago ^^

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:58, on Zulip):

we were chatting in private with @Sergey Togi Dashnyam and we were saying that we could have a contributing to rustc-guide chapter inside the guide, something that helps people to get started

Santiago Pastorino (Sep 12 2019 at 13:58, on Zulip):

@Sergey Togi Dashnyam is going to try to write some things down
