Topic: bootstrap RUSTC_STAGE variable

nikomatsakis (Oct 04 2019 at 18:40, on Zulip):

Argh it drives me crazy when I get messages like this:

thread 'main' panicked at 'RUSTC_STAGE was not set: NotPresent', src/libcore/result.rs:1165:5

is there some easy way to get access to all the env variables?

nikomatsakis (Oct 04 2019 at 18:40, on Zulip):

there used to be a way to start a shell with the variables set

@nikomatsakis What is the correct stream for that? It's a question I have wanted to know the answer to too, and I think we could document it
