Hey there
It's been a while since we started this space and there's been some discussion on here as well as the github issues.
I think generally having some broad-scope coordination meetings, at least in the beginning are gonna be a good idea. And I think zulip is also a great place to have them.
I made a doodle for times: https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/Rust_database-wg_kickoff_meeting/ (all times in UTC!)
From existing conversations I think a good starting agenda would be
1. Database adapters team (writing sync/async database adapters and common APIs)
2. A minimal migrations toolkit (around
3. Roadmap for database testing tools
Feel free to post your own agenda wishes below
Any news on the meeting date/time?
I'm based in Sydney, but would prefer to work morning Canadian time so I can dial in that part of my team =)
:grimacing: Yea a bunch of stuff slipped my mind this week. But there wasn't a lot of overlap on dates anyway. So maybe we start another doodle next week with some more date ranges and see if we can't find a better time. Sorry!
I'm based on South Africa, and am comfortable with anything between 10:00GMT - 18:00GMT
@spacekookie Any news on this?
@weiznich @spacekookie has anything happened yet? I would like to help.
As far as I'm aware nothing has happened.
Hey, yea. I've had to take some time off from everything. I'll create a doodle next week for a date where we can all talk about what we want to do, and how to coordinate.
I know that the refinary repo has seen some commits to build a more flexible migration engine, which I haven't used personally yet.
But also like...don't let me stop you from doing stuff you want to in some repo or whatever
@weiznich @spacekookie I think we should start doing a monthly meeting regularly for this group. Like how #wg-cli is doing.
I currently do not have the bandwidth for regular meetings. Feel free to do such a thing, but don't expected that I will participate regularly.
Well, the problem with regular meetings in this space was that I couldn't even get anyone to really care enough about working out scope of the group x) so, not sure how useful they would be
I can't lead them, but I'd be sitting in if any happened
I think we should figure out the scope of this group on this chat. I have 2 in mind already:
I am planning to work on second one anyway
