An interesting bit about IDE profiling is that you want to see profiling results "live". For example, it's nice to see, as you are editing the code, how much time completion/highlighting took after edit, to find problematic edits. I've opened rust-analyzer#961 about this, and this doesn't seem to complicated: just a basic coars-grained hierarchical profiler. However I wonder if there's an off-the-shelf solution I could pick for this...
