I want to give a quick heads up that I will not be able to attend meetings at our current timeslot starting (and including) January 6th. It might be worth rescheduling; I can send out a doodle poll -- not sure quite to who though :)
Certainly it seems like it would be good to try to find a time that @Zoxc can attend at least...
ok, let's delete the existing meetings to start
probably starting from next week? I at least can't attend next week
I think that probably makes sense yeah
I would be interested in joining the meetings starting in January.
Ah, I was supposed to send out a doodle poll -- that slipped my mind. Let me go ahead and set that up now.
Okay, @WG-parallel-rustc @Alex Crichton @Josh Triplett @Zoxc -- https://doodle.com/poll/6eqwgwzgwwbmin3y is the doodle link, please fill that out when you get a chance. We'll likely try to meet at that time for the next few months at least, weekly; if none of the options work for you please let me know (ideally with some sense of whether you need earlier/later then the slots given, to inform a possible future doodle)
I'm also thinking that we probably won't meet today -- I don't think there's anything new on our agenda, the jobserver integration is waiting on Alex for now (I don't think there's anything to discuss there regardless though)
@simulacrum the first option on fridays, the one that for me is 12pm GMT-3, is when some of the compiler planning meetings happen, unsure if it's worth leaving it as an option
yeah, I figured that I'd have it
I've answered yes but modulo those meetings :)
not everyone here attends those meetings (indeed, I think the overlap is fairly small -- mostly Niko and myself, I believe)
(Also, @nikomatsakis -- I noticed you left the calendar invite for today -- but I think we're planning to not meet)
@Josh Triplett I see that you've not yet responded to the Doodle poll -- for now, it looks like either Thursday or Friday 11-12 Eastern is the slot that works for everyone (how rare!) -- would one of those work better for you?
I think the main outstanding work we have is an analysis of the data we gathered last year, as well as @Alex Crichton's review of the jobserver patches. My hope is that we can get parallel on by default with at least low thread counts quite soon, though.
Actually, something has come up in my schedule that conflicts with Friday, so we'll probably go with the Thursday slot. @nikomatsakis -- could you by chance set up the calendar invite? I think I don't have access to the compiler team calendar. Thursday 11-12 ET is the slot.
@simulacrum ok -- I can't make that slot on a regular basis, but I'm kind of ok with that :)
Actually, I might be able to attend via phone
Also, I just gavr you access to the calendar
Created the calendar event, but who should be "invited"?
I think everyone in the doodle + @Josh Triplett
(@simulacrum you should be able to edit, too)
tried to do that
I don't have contact info for @Santiago Pastorino though
My apologies, somehow I didn't see the Doodle poll (or the meeting invite). Thursday would generally be better than Friday, and it looks like that's what got picked, so that works out well. :)
@Josh Triplett I think you're on the invite -- let me know if not, and I can add you!
