nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:04, on Zulip):

Hey @WG-async-foundations =)

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:05, on Zulip):

Review uncategorized issues

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:05, on Zulip):

Add more context when trying to write async trait function #65899

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:06, on Zulip):

Has an existing PR, nice

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:06, on Zulip):

I'll just mark as triaged then

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:06, on Zulip):

which reminds me, I never adjusted the searches the way I wanted to

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:08, on Zulip):

huh

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:08, on Zulip):

I guess you can't construct a github search for "is assigned to someone"

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:08, on Zulip):

without saying who the someone is?

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:09, on Zulip):

oh well, I'll go over assigned issues manually then

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:09, on Zulip):

Updates on focus issues

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:10, on Zulip):

Anybody who's attending (maybe just @davidtwco, based on the  above...) got any updates?

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:10, on Zulip):

I posted a blog post about async fn in traits, which was my main deliverable for last week :)

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:10, on Zulip):

This week I expect to post a follow-up post

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:10, on Zulip):

And probably draft a blog post for the main rust blog about async fn hitting stable (though that's not needed till next week)

davidtwco (Oct 29 2019 at 17:10, on Zulip):

I’ve not spent much more time on the diagnostic issue. Main issues are just having it apply to more cases and correctly handling cases where the drop isn’t at the end of the scope.

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:10, on Zulip):

I failed to follow up with your questions

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:11, on Zulip):

So maybe I will try to do that, too

davidtwco (Oct 29 2019 at 17:11, on Zulip):

(Though I’ve not confirmed that the latter is an issue)

davidtwco (Oct 29 2019 at 17:11, on Zulip):

Thanks.

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:11, on Zulip):

let me add that to my list of things to do -- it would be tomorrow morning

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:12, on Zulip):

maybe I'll start a build going now of your branch though :)

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:12, on Zulip):

well, it's quiet this week -- that suits me fine...

nikomatsakis (Oct 29 2019 at 17:12, on Zulip):

anybody looking for things to do?

davidtwco (Oct 29 2019 at 17:12, on Zulip):

I don’t think I’ll have time this week to take on anything else.

csmoe (Oct 29 2019 at 17:22, on Zulip):

update: #62097 has a PR #65730

David Haig (Oct 29 2019 at 18:05, on Zulip):

Hi guys, sorry I missed this. Daylight savings here in London. Not much to report from my end other than the fact that I'm working though the rustc book and the codebase and things are making sense. Hopefully I will be able to make a meaningful contribution by this time next week.

Giles Cope (Oct 29 2019 at 18:07, on Zulip):

Sorry, time! Guess US will be in a few weeks time... #62570 also now has a PR #65902
