I can't talk much atm but I am overall concerned that we emphasising the M in MVP too much and letting pretty bad paper cuts slide making the stabilisation too much focused on early adopters.
I'd like to hear more about this when you get a chance, @centril -- not sure if you have specifics in mind.
I'm perhaps not so concerned that what we ship is minimal, but rather that there are bugs within that minimal shipment
I feel like https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/60424 and such give bad UX;
Tho I am happy that https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/61452 is marked as blocking cause I agree that is really bad
(Unfortunately I haven't been feeling super well and have been unable to work for the past few days so the tests are also lagging behind; so if people can help out with that it would be nice)
Yeah, the inference causing "backwards errors" is indeed quite annoying and would be awesome to fix. IIRC @davidtwco had already sent some PRs in that direction?
that's a very thorny problem; I think I owe @davidtwco some feedback there, too
I’ve only made a small PR that didn’t affect async/await IIRC, it fixed the same underlying issue for a simpler case.
