Stream: t-compiler/wg-meta

Topic: zulip group naming

davidtwco (Mar 01 2019 at 10:33, on Zulip):

I've noticed that some group names in Zulip are wg-compiler-* and some are just wg-* - do we want to standardise this?

nagisa (Mar 01 2019 at 10:33, on Zulip):

which ones are wg-compiler-*?

nagisa (Mar 01 2019 at 10:33, on Zulip):

all of them seem wg-topic to me.

davidtwco (Mar 01 2019 at 10:33, on Zulip):

NLL, traits and meta

nagisa (Mar 01 2019 at 10:33, on Zulip):

that appears as t-compiler/wg-nll here.

nagisa (Mar 01 2019 at 10:34, on Zulip):

oh group names

nagisa (Mar 01 2019 at 10:34, on Zulip):

okay

davidtwco (Mar 01 2019 at 10:34, on Zulip):

I mean the user groups - the aliases - not the streams.

pnkfelix (Mar 01 2019 at 14:06, on Zulip):

my vote is for us to standardize on wg-topic

nikomatsakis (Mar 01 2019 at 14:09, on Zulip):

One other thing: There are some working groups (e.g., traits, async-await) that kind of "bridge" compiler and lang

nikomatsakis (Mar 01 2019 at 14:09, on Zulip):

and I would expect this to be more and more common

nikomatsakis (Mar 01 2019 at 14:10, on Zulip):

I don't really know the right way to deal with that :) there are (within said groups) distinct concerns, to be sure

nikomatsakis (Mar 01 2019 at 14:10, on Zulip):

maybe the idea of t-compiler/wg-foo is ungreat, we should just do a "flatter" structure

nikomatsakis (Mar 01 2019 at 14:10, on Zulip):

I sort of "secretly" hope to move more t-lang stuff to Zulip, as well.
