Hey, does anyone knows if it is possible to run a
cargo check build against 32 power arch, without setting up docker, emulators, etc?
Its' the second time rust-analyzer build in rust-lang rust fails with build error on power, I wonder if we can check this on CI
Due to quanta?
cargo check --target=powerpc-unknown-linux-gnu and it failed with the same error as CI)
qup, though, I think we removed quanta from cargo.lock
(with the latest tracing udpate)
Ah no, we added quanta with the latest update. It's too late here, so let me log the issue the lazy way:
@David Barsky -- apparently something in tracing infra depends on the quanta crate, and that requries AtomicU64, which is not available on some Rust targets, which causes rust-analyzer build to fail in rust-lang rust repo. You might want to be aware of this :D
uh oh; thanks for letting me know
oh, my crate (https://crates.io/crates/tracing-tree) does
oh, huh. we don't even use it.
i'll cut a new release with quanta removed; hold on
To be clear, this is super non-urgent :-)
fixed and released, @matklad! https://github.com/davidbarsky/tracing-tree/releases/tag/v0.1.4
I know it's not, but you caught me at a good time :)
I threw a PR up to bump
tracing-tree. Should be in RA in a few minutes
For the future, https://cfarm.tetaneutral.net/ has some real ppc machines
