Topic: Discussion on token format in error message

std::Veetaha (Feb 03 2020 at 21:51, on Zulip):

In the recent PR that introduced collecting error messages while tokenizing, we have stumbled with the dilemma of outputting tokens in error messages. The initial comment on that was left here by @matklad. I see that we have different opinions on whether we surround tokens with backticks or not. I'd like to set this clearly, because we almost merged the PR but havent come to the conclusion on what error message is better
this one:
Missing trailing `"` with `#` symbols to terminate the raw byte string literal
or this one without backticks:
Missing trailing " with # symbols to terminate the raw byte string literal

Hmm, I've reread the comments and now I see that I misunderstood them. It seems that the backticked variant is preferred, heh, I've started a discussion out of nothing ))
