Topic: vscode version in console

Edwin Cheng (Feb 19 2020 at 14:14, on Zulip):

@std::Veetaha Do you know why the output of VSCode console shown something like :

[Extension Host] rust-analyzer --version output: "rust-analyzer 20252ef"

but my git HEAD is pointing to 61fdcc5de which is not matched ?
But I am sure I built an using the HEAD commit one.

std::Veetaha (Feb 19 2020 at 14:27, on Zulip):

I don't think this is connected with VSCode. I suppose you have the following setting: "rust-analyzer.serverPath": "rust-analyzer", so the extension just runs rust-analyzer --version, you can try it in your terminal yourself

Oh I see. The commit number is written to environment variable by but somehow it didn't rerun when I rebased and built the code .. :thinking:

Yeah, does the thing, it needs investigation

You could add rerun-if-changed for the git HEAD ref and the branch ref that HEAD points to to fix this.
