Topic: less annoying `raw string` assist

Manmeet Mann (Oct 30 2020 at 10:59, on Zulip):

Only show raw string assist when there is some benefit. For example, it should show for "Hello \" world" but not for "Hello world"

matklad (Oct 30 2020 at 11:53, on Zulip):

tbh, I think it is a feature

matklad (Oct 30 2020 at 11:54, on Zulip):

The way I type raw strings is pressing ", then alt+Enter, then Enter. That way, I don't need to type r## which is the most annoying part

matklad (Oct 30 2020 at 11:54, on Zulip):

Why is raw string assist feels annoying to you? Does it conflict with some higher priority assist?

Manmeet Mann (Oct 30 2020 at 11:55, on Zulip):

yellow bulb in vscode shows at every single string

Manmeet Mann (Oct 30 2020 at 11:56, on Zulip):

We can special case "" though

matklad (Oct 30 2020 at 12:03, on Zulip):

In the limit, the lightbulb will be available everywhere, it's just we have too few assist right now :-)

You can disable the bulb visual via "editor.lightbulb.enabled": false

Manmeet Mann (Oct 30 2020 at 12:05, on Zulip):

thanks
also, is there any way to disable to some assists?

matklad (Oct 30 2020 at 12:06, on Zulip):

No, we only have opt-out of diagnostics I think

matklad (Oct 30 2020 at 12:06, on Zulip):

Though we should add one for asssits as well.
