hm, so right now using cargo fuzz is easiest to use and based on libfuzzer. Hongfuzz is also quite approachable but I had some issues in the past. Never used afl. There is an effort to unify all the backends to use the same macro/fuzz code, but I haven't seen much work there in a while
Ideally, using cargo fuzz right now should allow you to upgrade to a more generic version quite easily later
