Topic: Turning off cargo check

CryZe (Dec 06 2020 at 04:00, on Zulip):

I can't seem to find an option to turn off cargo check. Am I blind or is there actually no such option?

Kirill Bulatov (Dec 06 2020 at 08:21, on Zulip):

Do you mean the one that's run automatically on save?
I have it disabled with "rust-analyzer.checkOnSave.enable": false,, works for me.

CryZe (Dec 06 2020 at 12:46, on Zulip):

It seems like when I restart VSCode it still runs cargo check once.

Florian Diebold (Dec 06 2020 at 13:00, on Zulip):

do you have rust-analyzer.cargo.loadOutDirsFromCheck enabled?

CryZe (Dec 06 2020 at 13:35, on Zulip):

Yeah does that force it to run anyway? I guess that would make sense.

Florian Diebold (Dec 06 2020 at 14:23, on Zulip):

that makes RA run cargo check once at startup to get those env vars and proc macros, yes

Florian Diebold (Dec 06 2020 at 14:25, on Zulip):

I think the setting isn't named super well, especially since it's used for more than just OUT_DIRs, but I imagine we'll straighten that out when we enable it and proc macros by default
