Topic: Disable inlay hints?

Martin Asquino (Oct 22 2020 at 18:59, on Zulip):

Hello folks! Just wondering, and apologies if this is answered somewhere, I did search but I couldn't find anything; can one disable the inlay hints extension server-side? What I mean by this is, can I send a workspace setting of some kind to disable them so as the client doesn't receive any? Or does the client have to control that feature being enabled/disabled?

the server doesn't send the hints

its the client who asks for hints

this is controlled by rust-analyzer.inlayHints.enable client setting

Right, makes sense. Thank you for the quick response! :+1:

I was browsing the code and I found that I can disable each hint individually, which would basically get me what I wanted right? (the server returning an empty array of hints)

I think I'll add the enable config client-side anyways though
