Topic: Compile only one subcrate

Paul Faria (Oct 23 2019 at 14:26, on Zulip):

I was under the impression that running something like RUST_BACKTRACE=1 ./x.py build --stage=0 src/librustc_codegen_ssa would only try to compile the librustc_codegen_ssa crate, but it's also compiling librustc_mir. Is there a way I can tell the build system to not compile src/librustc_mir yet? It produces a ton of errors that I'm going to address later, and I'd just like to wrap up the former crate first. I current have nearly 200 errors, so it makes it hard to find the ones specific to librustc_codegen_ssa.

you can't, no, not today

in anycase I suspect ssa depends on mir?

Paul Faria (Oct 24 2019 at 03:40, on Zulip):

It depends on librustc/mir, but not librustc_mir. No worries though. Finally got through most of those today
