Topic: avr unwinding

Eric Huss (Jul 06 2020 at 22:30, on Zulip):

@Jake Goulding I think you mentioned you've done some stuff with AVR. Do you happen to know if the avr-unknown-unknown target supports unwinding? I assume the answer is "no", but the target spec says "yes", so I am confused.

Jonas Schievink (Jul 06 2020 at 22:31, on Zulip):

It does not

Jonas Schievink (Jul 06 2020 at 22:31, on Zulip):

I thought we fixed that before landing... maybe not :)

Jake Goulding (Jul 06 2020 at 22:38, on Zulip):

What would unwinding even entail?

Jake Goulding (Jul 06 2020 at 22:38, on Zulip):

Like, if we wanted it to (not that I know we do)

Jonas Schievink (Jul 06 2020 at 22:40, on Zulip):

I'm not sure you could even generate DWARF for AVR

Eric Huss (Jul 06 2020 at 22:52, on Zulip):

ok, thanks! Maybe either of you know if mipsel-sony-psp is in the same boat? It is marked as unwind, but I assume it is not supported.

Jonas Schievink (Jul 06 2020 at 22:55, on Zulip):

Probably, although the PSP is sufficiently advanced that I wouldn't be surprised if it could be made to work there

Jonas Schievink (Jul 06 2020 at 22:59, on Zulip):

Seems like I should've checked both PRs more closely. Though that setting doesn't seem to cause any issues if it's turned on...
