Topic: Build system when hacking on libcore

Jake (Jun 29 2020 at 02:33, on Zulip):

I'm currently making some changes to a couple libcore and libstd functions. No new functions are being added and no visible behavior is changing. What is the right way to build this? I cant seem to get build times under 3:30. The command I've been using so far is x.py build src/libstd -i --stage 1. Using --keep-stage 1 doesnt seem to make a difference

IIRC you can actually use --stage 0. That will only build the standard library whereas --stage 1also builds the compiler.

You can use x.py check src/libstd, which should be as fast as it gets.
