Topic: output file of compile_input

Is there a way to get the filename(s) created during driver::compile_input? rustdoc currently hardcodes the name of the file it tries to load when running a doctest, but this can be different if the doctest sets its own crate name

cf. https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/issues/57317 and https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/blob/c0bbc3927e28c22edefe6a1353b5ecc95ea9a104/src/librustdoc/test.rs#L332

if we manually set the output parameter, would that override the automatic file name? (and also let us output into our temp directory?)

QuietMisdreavus (Jan 03 2019 at 22:35, on Zulip):

hmm, judging from the implementation of build_output_filenames, outdir is ignored when output is set, so it needs to include outdir

probably not a problem
