I was wondering which working groups we should "sync in" with in the upcoming triage meeting.
Looks like the @WG-self-profile group made some real progress towards a roadmap.
Same for @wg-rfc-2229
I'd appreciate if we could drop a reminder at the meeting for compiler team members to re-review the crates policy draft - I made a lot of changes after the steering meeting and would like to get some more feedback.
Yeah sorry I failed to make an agenda there
Let’s tentatively plan to hear from self-profile
(I’ll review the situation with rfc-2229 tomorrow )
Yes, I think @WG-self-profile could give an update at the meeting. @Wesley Wiser, do you want to do that or should I? I think we basically would want to tell everyone that we set a first bigger milestone and what that looks like.
@mw Totally up to you
@Wesley Wiser in that case I'll put it into your capable hands :)
regarding @wg-rfc-2229 , I don't think @blitzerr is on the T-compiler/meeting list, which may mean that they are not generally available at the T-compiler meeting time?
Or maybe to put it more bluntly: @blitzerr , are you available to attend the T-compiler triage meeting on Thursday? If so, would you like to present for the wg-rfc-2229 checkin?
(if they are not available, I imagine we should be able to fall back on @nikomatsakis . But I would prefer to spread the effort around if possible.)
@pnkfelix I am traveling right now but I might be able to. But you are right, in my regular time zone, it is difficult for me to attend meetings actively as it usually during my work hours.
@blitzerr that is no problem at all, thanks for confirming my hypothesis
What does presenting mean ? Can you tell me briefly about the format and what I need to prepare for it ?
its at most 15 minutes
Is it a zoom meeting ?
and is just meant to report to the attendees (which is made up of compiler team members and non-compiler team members who are interested) what are the recent bits of progress with the working group, what the current status is
and, i suppose, what are the blocking items
I see makes sense.
its also meant as a way to drum up interest from the attendees to help out
it is not a zoom meeting. It just is a chat session in Zulip
Sure. I can present this Thursday.
To be clear, the meeting itself is an hour, but the first 30 minutes (at most) is dedicated to discussion of triage stuff
and the last 30 minutes is dedicated to working group checkin. We are trying to have two WG's present per meeting, which is where the 15 minute figure comes from
People do not have to attend for the full hour, especially people like you who have a conflict
so we could e.g. have you come when we are at the 30 minute mark, so that you would minimize the time you are distracted from your own job.
in any case, since you are traveling, just let me know whether you'll want us to make accommodations in terms of the timing of when you could participate.
I can do this Thursday. I am not working .
Thanks for the link.
I can also "fill in" for @blitzerr if needed
