Could we add streams for those working on allocators, simd, and cuda ? e.g. wg-allocators, wg-simd, wg-cuda ? There is currently no place for us to meet, and I'd like to post these to the users and internals forums to try to get some more people involved
any idea who to ping about this? @nikomatsakis ?
yes ping niko
@nikomatsakis hold on on creating a channel, we are currently discussing which channel to use: https://github.com/rust-cuda/wg/issues/3
So the wg-cuda would like to have a stream here on zulip. @nikomatsakis it would be great if someone could set this up.
so no new working groups are being created until after the edition and until after some organizational issues with respect to working groups are resolved, so it is probably not possible for us to have a stream here
@gnzlbg this is the first I had heard of a rust cuda working group :) interesting. I guess this is sort of "unofficial" at the moment? Or did I miss something. Either are equally possible. :)
PS, I'm interested in CUDA too :)
So it’s unofficial, we haven’t made an announcement yet
I’m in a conference till Thursday but github.com/Rust-cuda
There are a couple of people that are using the rust nvptx backend which is “tier-4” at the moment
And two of us do computational fluid dynamics and the others do ray tracing,
Image processing, etc
Last week things broke for the 1000th time and I organized this over the weekend to see if we can get This at least to a tier-2 stage
Everybody has their own framework, but everybody hates fixing basic thinks like linking kernels, so it has worked out better than I expected
Feel free to drop by and say hi and join our zulip
