Hi together! Also read @nikomatsakis blog post and became curious

lokalmatador (Apr 19 2019 at 12:24, on Zulip):

So, how can/could I ideally start to contribute?

davidtwco (Apr 19 2019 at 12:26, on Zulip):

What type of contributions are you interested in making?

lokalmatador (Apr 19 2019 at 12:30, on Zulip):

Well, I read @nikomatsakis post yesterday - I have a strong background in CS/coding (former PostDoc) but also in managing multilateral research projects as a principal investigator (so not the whole project as such but specific workpackages); honestly, I would like to contribute on the coding side but I also can take care of management duties (as mentioned in @nikomatsakis ); but I think for the former it is yet way too early
also, I gotta run now but will reply asap!

lokalmatador (Apr 19 2019 at 12:30, on Zulip):

and thanks for replying

Also, I left academia a couple months ago and am now looking for a new side project next to my daily job

@Philipp Zech See this narrow https://rust-lang.zulipchat.com/#narrow/stream/131828-t-compiler/topic/learning.20WG @nikomatsakis started it to discuss learning/training help. Like you, I asked the same question. :)

davidtwco (Apr 19 2019 at 12:50, on Zulip):

In terms of code contributions, you can take a look at the active working groups and pick one that you're interested in, then post in the relevant stream to find some tasks involving that.

lokalmatador (Apr 19 2019 at 13:56, on Zulip):

@Amanjeev Sethi thanks a lot! So I guess you also just start out?

lokalmatador (Apr 19 2019 at 13:56, on Zulip):

@davidtwco thanks a lot!

Amanjeev Sethi (Apr 19 2019 at 14:06, on Zulip):
