Hi all, I'm repjarms . I'm a software dev in NYC, and I really enjoy Rust. I'd love to be able to contribute to the project in whatever capacity is needed, and code contributions are perhaps what I am most interested in.
I have been writing Rust as a consumer of the language, but still have a lot to learn about the internals of the project. I have the links to the compiler docs and need to set aside time to go through them in more detail.
If there is a particular area that would like another helping hand, please let me know! #t-compiler/wg-async-await has caught my eye as a really interesting body of work as well :)
I'd recommend attending the #t-compiler/wg-async-await meeting and asking for some tasks if that's an area you're interested in, the next meeting is at:
Tuesday, 7 May 2019
18:00 – 18:30 BST or 13:00 – 13:30 EDT
(according to the calendar at least, it's weekly at that time)
Oh, and welcome!
@davidtwco thank you! This info is really helpful
There's a bunch of information on ongoing efforts in the compiler team at: https://github.com/rust-lang/compiler-team
@davidtwco does the async meeting take place in the stream here on zulip?
There will be a topic created for it sometime in the next 10 minutes when the meeting starts.
Ah ok. Thank you!
