Hey all, my name is Manish. I'm new to Rust-lang, and am currently working on a small chip8 project to learn Rust/understand VMs more. Professionally I'm a Senior Data Engineer in Berlin. My areas of interest are databases (specifically PostgreSQL), stream processing, message systems like Kafka, and I've done extensive work in Google Cloud platform. Personally I'm learning more about internals of how compilers work (something that excites me but I am a novice at). I'd love to have any pointers on how to get started with contributions in those areas. Thanks a lot!

hi @Manish Gill and welcome, if you're learning the internals of the compiler I recommend you to read the rustc-guide. We are also running the learning working group which one of the main objectives is to make the learning rustc process better. I'd like to invite you to join and make those guides even better :)

Thanks @Santiago Pastorino ! I've bookmarked the rustc-guide and will be going through it in the upcoming weeks. Is the learning working group chat a good place to ask any beginner/stupid questions? :)

@Manish Gill I guess the best place would be t-compiler/help, the group is mainly to make rustc-guide better
