Can we have a #wg-const stream for discussing the various const eval things?
I think @nikomatsakis is the only one who can do that.
But the contents of the stream can never change
do we have such a "working group"?
we could have one, I'd like to know who's heading it up and how it's structured before making a stream with the "wg" title; I guess it's not clear that all streams have to be working group related per se
@nikomatsakis well really it was @Oli suggesting we could have our discussions about our PRs in a public space
so people can complain when we are being stupid^^
and we werent sure what a good place for that would be
a topic in t-compiler could also work, but I have t-compiler muted because it has lots of noise
and I dont think you can unmute a single topic in a muted stream
You can unmute a stream and mute individual topics, although, if there are lots of topics being created that isn't a great solution.
it doesn't have to be a working group. If that's a requirement for our own stream, I'll do the steps to create a working group. I just want a nice place to discuss const stuff in public and still be able to have topics below that. While we could do
const-bar in #t-compiler that doesn't quite feel right
a-const-eval like the github label?
@nikomatsakis how does that sound to you?
I just saw that there is https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/labels/WG-compiler-const but I have no idea where it comes from. Seems to exist since a year ago
I think those
WG-foo labels ought to be deleted
tbh I think a const working group is a good idea
but I'm not sure that we have enough "active folks" to make it a real thing
(e.g., with active meetings, etc)
perhaps I should just make a
#t-compiler-const stream for now?
right. so we do have the
a-compiler-const tag on github
I don't know why, but "a" feels weird to me for Zulip :)
but .. maybe it's fine
chat about this area
I don't care too much I guess
are streams renameable? :D
probably... might break links
I just want a stream, not particularly bound to a name
I'll make sure all
wg-compiler-const tagged issues are tagged
a-const-eval and then I'll delete the wg tag
